Bill enjoyed his very first dive in Acapulco years ago, and was destined for a life in the sport of Scuba Diving.
Bill received his first scuba certification while earning a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Texas State University in San Marcos. He has been teaching since 1984, and was awarded a position as a Faculty Professor for Texas State University, where he spent three years certifying hundreds of divers.

Bill earned the esteemed professional scuba certification of PADI MASTER INSTRUCTOR in 1998. He is a Medic First Aid & Emergency First Response/AED Instructor as well as a TDI Instructor and NAUI Instructor Trainer.

Bill has commercial diving experience, holds certifications as an Advanced Cave Diver, Advanced Technical Trimix Diver, and as a Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver. He is a Master Equipment Technician with experience and certifications for servicing virtually all makes of scuba gear including Full Face Masks, Spearfishing gear, and compressor systems.

Some of Bill’s favorite dive experiences are being invited to dive the protected historic treasure ship wreck site of the Senora de Atocha off the Dry Tortugas in the Florida Keys, and being part of one of the first exploration divers on the USS Largto deep wreck. This submarine lost in WWII in the Gulf of Thailand until 2013.

Some of his favorite dive destinations are Palau, Cozumel, Truk Lagoon & anywhere no one has been before. Bill really enjoys teaching scuba, and leading divers on the greatest adventures of their lives. Having logged over 7000 dives around the world, he remains a student of the water and continues to learn. Ironically, Bill remembers commenting when he began diving that he thought “only crazy people would do extreme stuff like this”. It just proves that “exceptional” instruction does make the difference, and he compliments those Instructors that put up with him in their classes.

He became a travel aficionado because he loves to meet people, have fun, and encounter the wonders of the underwater world. He says everyone’s nicer underwater, and it gives him an excuse to travel the globe! His goal is to turn people on to the greatest sport on earth, and to find more really cool stuff underwater!!

Bill worked in litigation support services for over eighteen years, and is now very happy to be out of the suit and tie where he is CEO of Gigglin’ Marlin Divers, Inc. He is an active member of New Hope Church in Pearland,  married to a super hot retired Delta flight attendant, has two over-achieving children (who are incredible divers) and the sweetest dog in in the world ;>)
