Orlando is a Divemaster and has been diving for 35 years.  He was certified in 1984 through NAUI and PADI in Puerto Rico and also holds a certification in Dry Suit diving.  His favorite dive destination is Andros Island, Bahamas, where he lived for 3 years and dove almost every day!  He also enjoys diving in Cozumel, Puerto Rico, Caymans, and Florida Keys.

Orlanda says due to all the traveling he has done in the past 35 years, he has lost track of how many logged dives he has, but wishes he “knew how important that would some day be.  I would imagine they are in the range of 600-800 dives.”

He became a DM to enjoy his retirement in the Caribbean while still staying heavily involved in diving.  He also wants to help Hispanic students who need bilingual instruction.

Orlando is also a USCG Master Captain, Sailing Endorsement 50GT & ASA Sailing Instructor and a member of the Sail Time Houston club.  He is currently the owner/president of Aluminum Wholesalers, Inc. which has a warehouse and also delivers aluminum in Texas.  You may have seen their work all over the Sam Houston Tollway, MD Anderson, Houston  Museum of Natural Science, and canvas awning frames all over Houston!

His favorite pastime is sailing his 41′ Oceanis in the Gulf of Mexico or Galveston Bay and, of course, diving.  He also enjoys playing the piano, guitars, and a little guitar-looking instrument with 10 strings called a Cuatro which is Puerto Rico’s National Instrument.
